I love this conference! NASIG is consistently one the best conferences I attend. We (Rochelle and I) arrived yesterday afternoon and had a fine time catching up with old friends. It’s amazing how a whole year can pass and seem like no time has elapsed at all. I met several new people, which is also another wonderful thing about NASIG. The attendance is small enough that you really have the opportunity to connect with people on more than just a superficial level.
The opening program featured a welcome from President Mary Page, recognition of the 2006 award winners, and a talk by guest speaker, Dr. Tom Noel. He gave us an entertaining look at a bit of Denver history and then we were off to dinner at Red Rocks, a natural amphitheatre.
What can I say? Red Rocks is amazing. Even though the weather wasn’t cooperating (overcast and cool), the rock formations and colors were an amazing sight to behold! The dinner was incredibly tasty, with different stations set up in the Visitors Center including pasta, fajitas, wonderful desserts — you name it! There was a live jazz band whose music was also quite “tasty.”

I’m looking forward to today’s offerings. I’ll be back later!
